A Day in Downtown Camas

Enjoy the historic charm as you stroll and explore the shops and walkable streetscape of this delightfully quaint town. Walking maps can be found in the downtown shops and you’ll be on your way!

Start your morning with a hot latte and pastry at Caffe Piccolo right in the heart of downtown. Sit outside if it’s nice and enjoy the people, colorful landscaping, and the beautiful large shade trees. If you need a bit more, treat yourself to a hearty breakfast at Natalia’s Café and feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Their warm cinnamon roll French toast is a must have!

After you’re full and happy, it’s time to shop! Head down the block and step into Arktana—a shoe and accessory store offering a great selection of current and comfortable fashions, and next door into Allure Boutique which has ladies clothing that feels as fantastic as it looks.  Across the street you’ll find the amazing Camas Gallery, where you can peruse a variety of art pieces by local artists. Bring home something from Camas! Above this gallery is a substantial mural depicting historic Camas in 1912 done by a master Italian painter. Just down the block is Attic Gallery and the chance to experience even more exquisite art. Art lovers paradise! Two blocks up is The Soap Chest, where all the soaps and skincare are hand made on site. Perfect natural gifts made in Camas.

Lizzabeth A on the corner of 4th and Cedar is filled with quality gifts and home décor and just outside their doors by the town fountain is our sweet little bronze girl you can sit next to and relax a bit. A short jaunt down Cedar leads you to Navidi’s Olive Oil and Vinegar shop where you can try anything from a Cilantro and Roasted Onion Olive Oil to a gorgeous Ripe Summer Peach Balsamic Vinegar. Taste away!

Heading down 4th, you’ll encounter the incomparable Camas Antiques, a mecca of all things vintage, antique, retro, repurposed, and upcycled. They carry plenty of new gift and clothing items as well. Across the street, pop into Lily Atelier, a women’s clothing store known for its impeccable style and customer service.

By now you’re hungry for a snack or lunch and you have options! The smoothies at Squeeze & Grind are a delicious favorite for young and old. How about Southern inspired cookin’ at Miss Nola’s Café, a gourmet burger and brew at Mill City Brew Werks, or exquisite sushi at The Sushi Joint? All would be rewarding choices. Save room for a treat from Cake Happy however—their cupcakes and scones are sweet and truly extraordinary!

The historic Liberty Theatre is perfect to catch a matinee or evening movie with a variety of offerings including beer and wine and the best popcorn anywhere! Dinner options are plentiful as well including award-winning steak and seafood at Feast at 316, local BBQ and beer at Caps N’ Taps, or tasty Mexican inspired cuisine at Nuestra Mesa. Try their house made ginger margaritas and fresh chips and guacamole!

Stop in to catch the game at A Beer at a Time or a classic cocktail and live music at Birch Street Uptown Lounge. Stroll back up 4th Avenue and take in the tree and roofline lighting that make Downtown Camas magical at night. Pet the bronze dog Millie along the way and soak in the small town feel as you window shop and relax. A satisfying ending to a lovely day in Downtown Camas.
