We are working to bring engaging art to our town. The Downtown Camas Hidden Bronze Bird Tour will be just that! A bronze bird will be located on each block (a total of 13 in all), encouraging people to stroll through and explore our town discovering the birds. The birds will be all different types and all life size including a woodpecker, dove, wrens, nuthatches, ducks, chickens, chicks, a stellar jay, crow, osprey, and an owl–all birds native to our area.
Benefits of this project include:
· This tour will be a fun activity friends and families can do together at any time, even when shops are closed.
· The tour will increase interest downtown, encourage art appreciation, and attract people to our downtown district. Icons for the bird locations will be on our downtown walking map.
· This tour will encourage pedestrian flow and connect our town from our historic mill to our City Hall and library.
· We are supporting a local bronze artist who is working with us to keep our costs down while providing top quality art pieces for the community.
100% of the money raised will go toward purchasing the bronze birds. The birds will be professionally installed by the City of Camas.
Creating reasons to spend time together and enjoy the heart of our city while encouraging our arts culture helps to bring sustainable vitality to our community and provides an enjoyable sense of place for both locals and visitors alike. And it will be fun!
Our organization and the community will be so grateful to have this project become a reality in our small town! Every bit helps–we thank you for your support! For a list of our Bronze Bird Tour Project donors, visit here. Thank you all!
