Did you know that there is a thriving Art Gallery upstairs in the Camas Public Library? Second Story Gallery was launched in the early 1980s by volunteers and has exhibited a wide variety of visual art shows throughout the years. The Gallery is currently managed by a team of Library staff members that coordinates exhibitions year round. They are doing a wonderful job promoting arts and culture!
This February, the community is invited to experience the traveling exhibit “We’re Still Here: The Resilience of Washington Tribes”, on display in the Library’s Second Story Gallery from February 6th to 28th.
Created by Legacy Washington in partnership with the Washington Secretary of State, with the advice and input of tribal leaders and authorities from around the state, this exhibit explores the enduring presence and strength of Indigenous peoples throughout Washington state. Through thoughtfully designed interpretive panels, visitors will learn about tribal connections to the land, the lasting impacts of treaties and colonization, and the ongoing revitalization of culture, language, and traditions.
Go check it out during First Friday!
